GALLERY HISTORY
Founded in Chicago in 1963 and now located both in Chicago and New York, Richard Gray Gallery is one of the leading dealers in modern and contemporary American and European art, with museum as well as private clients worldwide. Offering artworks of exceedingly high quality as well as expert counsel in all areas of the field is almost an obsession. The gallery has a reputation for excellence, integrity and discretion that it continues to earn by providing a high level of service to understandably demanding clients. Collecting art remains a field where the myriad players share a deep appreciation for the profound role that art plays in our culture. This is paramount. The business of art, while founded upon the same principle, is more and more coming to resemble a truly ‘big’ business with the breathtaking values placed on fine art. While most galleries focus primarily upon artist representation and promotion, Richard Gray Gallery is collector oriented. This means the gallery will assess quality and authenticity, evaluate, exhibit, care for, buy and sell art principally for the benefit of the collector. We believe this is a highly meaningful distinction. Member of the Art Dealer’s Association of America and Confédéracion International des Négociants en Oeuvres d’Art. Richard Gray Gallery also exhibits at Art: Basel, Art: Basel/Miami, Art Hong Kong and The Art Show/New York.
